Designer: Rolando Santana
Nail Lead: Cinnamon Bowser
Colors: Custom Satin
Rolando Santana was inspired by 18th Century Europe for his Autumn/Winter 2015 Collection. Lead Manicurist, Cinnamon Bowser used Custom Satin that matched the beautiful fabrics used in the collection.
Zoya Creative Director, Rebecca Isa worked exclusively with Rolando Santana to create the custom shades for the show. The new Satin finish was matched to three prominent colors; teal (Dagmara), dusty purple (Antoinette) and green (Constance). The look of the show was designed to mimic the waist to hip line of the full skirted dresses in the collection. Start with 2 coats of Constance (green) and the sponge on layers of Zoya Nail Polish in Ziv and Zoya Nail Polish in Maria Luisa to mimic gold leafing.
The layers of both Ziv and Maria Luisa were sponged on in the shape of a narrow triangle with the tip pointing in the direction of the cuticle. The nail design coordinated perfectly with the beautiful hair and makeup looks creating wonderful symmetry with Rolando’s designs.
GET THE LOOK
Begin by using Zoya Anchor Base Coat to ensure nails are smooth for polish application. Next, apply 2 coats of Constance (green) and let dry. Then, sponge on layers of Ziv followed by Maria Luisa to mimic gold leafing. The layers should be sponged on in the shape of a narrow triangle with the tip pointing in the direction of the cuticle. Let dry – no top coat necessary!
