NAIL LOOK: 1980’s PUNK GRAPHICS | NAIL TECH: HOLLY FALCONE FOR ZOYA
“I CREATED A NAIL LOOK WITH AN ATTITUDE THAT ALSO REFLECTED THE FUN ‘80s CLUB VIBE OF THE COLLECTION.”
– HOLLY FALCONE, LEAD MANICURIST FOR ZOYA
The Nicole Miller SS 2019 Collection took a trip down
memory lane to show that fashion is timeless and fun. The
line was inspired by the ‘80s club scene: a little GoGo’s, a
little Blondie, some cheetah print and sequins and a whole
lot of attitude. To reflect this feeling of the collection, ZOYA
in Ali and ZOYA in Willa were used to create the fun nail art.
HOW TO GET THE LOOK
Begin by cleaning and prepping the nail with ZOYA Remove+.
Follow with ZOYA Naked Manicure Naked Base. Start off with
the right hand. For the thumbs use ZOYA in Ali to create a
flame pattern starting from the base of the nail. Use a thin
tipped brush and start with the top of the nail to create
three to four hills. Fill in those hills with Ali. On the left hand,
grab ZOYA in Willa to spell out “BAD” starting with a B on the
ring finger, an A on the middle finger and a D on the pointer
finger. For both pinky fingers, use a thin brush and draw a
line straight down the middle of the nail with ZOYA in Willa.
Then draw a line across the middle of the nail so the pinky is
separated into four boxes. Fill in the top left corner box and
the right bottom corner box of the nail to get the checkered
nail art. Finish off with ZOYA Naked Manicure Glossy Seal
to give the nails that perfect and fora quick dry, add a few
drops of ZOYA Fast Drops.
