NYFW Fall 2017 Recap: Zoya At Nicole Miller

ZOYA Colors Used: NM Naked Base, Willa, Purity, NM Glossy Seal, Fast Drops

Lead Nail Tech: Holly Falcone

“The design was inspired by the vibe of the girl the collection represented. She’s not a
trendsetter but she wants to express herself.” – Holly Falcone, Lead Manicurist for ZOYA

Details:
The Gypsy Grunge aesthetic of Nicole Miller’s AW 2017 collection was emphasized with black and white prints, and symbols highlighted by fierce eye makeup.

The nail design took its cues from the various symbols on the clothing and was inspired by this female persona – she doesn’t follow trends, she does what she wants to do.

How To Get The Look:
Start off with a perfectly clean nail (ZOYA Remove +) and ZOYA Naked Manicure Naked Base to prepare the nail for color. To get the look, apply two coats of ZOYA in Willa as the base color. Next, using ZOYA in Purity and a thin detail brush, recreate the symbols on the pieces within the collection. Finish and add shine with ZOYA Naked Manicure Glossy Seal and ZOYA Fast Drops to quickly dry the nails.

Nail Look: Mola Maze

Nail tech: Holly Falcone

ZOYA COLORS USED: NM Perfector in Pink, Ireland, Arizona , Fast Drops

“The inspiration behind this nail look is derived from a beautiful Panamanian textile called Mola. Similar to prints found in the collection, this maze-like pattern was created with two colors for a simple yet intricate appearance.– Holly Falcone, Lead Manicurist

Details:

The geometric prints of Nicole Miller’s Spring Summer 2017 collection were complemented by the patterned manicures on the models. With inspiration from the Panamanian heritage, the nails were mimicked from a traditional maze-like textile, Mola.nicolemiller_zoya_-nyfw_ss17_jkratochvil_2550_cropped_rgb_sm

How To:

Prep the nail by shaping, gently buffing and cleaning up cuticles. Begin by painting on coat of ZOYA Naked Manicure Base, and one coat of ZOYA Naked Manicure Pink Perfector. With a striping brush, paint two coats of a “+” cross in the center of the nail using Ireland. Be sure to place the striper brush back into Remove Plus in between colors and shake it to clean. Use the striper again, paint two coats of Ireland to trace the Arizona corners and the contours of the nail, leaving a small window to the natural nail. Allow to dry for a few minutes, then finish the manicure with a single coat of Naked Manicure Glossy Seal. Apply ZOYA Fast Drops to dry.

People Espanol: Nicole Miller Nail Look with Zoya

zoya_nailpolish_peopleespanol_nicolemillerrPeople en Espanol recently feautred the nail look from the Nicole Miller Spring/Summer 2017 show! The look was a “Mola Maze” featuring Zoya in Ireland and Zoya in Arizona by lead manicurist, Holly Falcone.

“In contrast looks relaxed hair and makeup, manicures were structured and colorful. “There is a textile called mola, and then we draw,” commented the head of manicures Holly Falcone. To achieve the look they used the Ireland and Arizona tones of ZOYA brand, and thin brushes used to achieve the native print.” – People en Espanol translation
