How to Get Perfect Nails All Year Long

zoya_nailpolish_byrdie_naked_goldDo you know that girl who always has perfect nails? Do you ever wonder how she gets them to look so great all the time? Byrdie is sharing 9 things girls with perfect nails always do – so you can achieve that too!

Byrdie interviewed Zoya Creative Director, Rebecca Isa for tips on prepping before you paint.

“Once a week, remove all polish and massage a nail oil into the nail plate, cuticle, and nail tips, including underneath the free edge. Let the oil absorb completely then apply a base coat, like this one by Zoya ($12) right over to lock it into the nail plate. It works best if using an oil that starts as a gel and melts down to an oil. This will absorb and fill in any microscopic cracks in the nail plate.” — Rebecca Isa, Zoya creative director

Isa suggests using Qtica Solid Gold as the perfect oil to massage into your nail plate, and the Naked Manicure Naked Base to lock that moisture in. Plus, the base coat also fills in ridges, and adds hydration, vitamins, and minerals to help promote healthy nail growth.

With these tips, you’ll be on your way to perfect looking nails all year long.

Inside Zoya’s Color Library + Interview with Rebecca Isa

zoya_nail_polish_britco_rebeccaisaImagine having an entire wall filled with nail polish. At Zoya’s Headquearters, this dream is a reality. Brit+Co recently gave readers a peek at the massive color library where Creative Director, Rebecca Isa preps for New York Fashion Week!

Getting ready for fashion week takes a lot of time, and color! With over 600 shades in the color library, working with designers to choose the perfect manicure shade is a fun and creative job.

“I go into our Color Library and I basically pull colors that work with designers’ aesthetics. I usually send about 20 to 30 bottles of color.” In order to help the designers make an informed decision, the colors are sent both on nail plates and in live bottles.” -Rebecca Isa

From there, Rebecca works exclusively with the designers and lead manicurist for the show to choose the right look and style to walk down the runway.

Personalized Nail Art Advice from Zoya Creative Director, Rebecca Isa

modern salonNail art is about showing your personality. Whether you prefer a half moon or a crazy geometric look, it should reflect your style. Zoya Creative Director, Rebecca Isa agreed ans sat down with Modern Salon to explain why.

“I believe the client is more drawn to the message the polish conveys about her personal style,” Isa says. “Remember, nail polish is supposed to be fun, and that enjoyment should always be part of every salon experience.” – Rebecca Isa

Go for the Nude Trend with Naked Manicure

harpers bazaarIf you’re looking to get with the latest trend in nails – you have to go nude! Whether you want to achieve the look using neutral nail colors or go with a completely “barely there” polish, Harper’s Bazaar is here to help.

The newest way to get naked is to go Naked! Naked Manicure that is. The Zoya Naked Manicure system not only treats your natural nails to make them grow healthier in time, but it also cosmetically enhances them, instantly! Using the sheer perfectors that are chosen based off your nail bed, you will get the “no polish, but polished” look you want to achieve. Your nails will look as though they had a face lift, while looking like you have nothing on in the first place.

Zoya Creative Director, Rebecca Isa sat down with Harper’s Bazaar to explain how to choose your perfector:

“If you have a little pink in your skin and you want to do a classic nude but every nude you put on makes your skin look dead because they’re all too gray or yellow, try one coat of the Pink. I’m a little bit warmer and most nudes look ashy next to my skin because they have so much warmth to them, so I do one coat of Buff. For women of color, nudes are a little bit too chalky, so a thin coat of Mauve on top of a classic nude pulls it right to their skin tone.” -Rebecca Isa

In case you missed our LIVE Broadcast on Periscope (@ZoyaNailPolish), we have the unedited video below so you don’t miss all the summer fun! Zoya’s Creative Director, Rebecca Isa, introduced the Island Fun & Paradise Sun Collections and talked about how these shades tie in with top beauty trends seen at NYFW SS15. Not only did we get up close and personal with the new shades, Rebecca shared which colors were her personal favorite from the collection, tips on how to wear summer’s nail and beauty trends AND answered viewer questions live. If you have questions for Rebecca about the collection or want to see more from us on Periscope, let us know on Twitter and Facebook @ZoyaNailPolish – we’d love to hear what you think!

Top SS15 Beauty Trends: Brilliant Eye & Bold Lips!

Rebecca Isa suggests getting a little playful with your look this summer and coordinating your nails with a pop of color on your eyes or lip. Go for a matching shade OR get a little funky with a complimentary color (we’re loving tangerine + teal). For a brilliant eye, take your pick from graphic black, white, blues, purples and even red & yellow – anything goes this season! Don’t forget to always use an eyeshadow base or primer for a bold eye to avoid fallout and make your look last longer. If you’re going with a brilliant eye, make sure to keep your lips nude to balance the look (and vice versa).

Rebecca also shared some great beauty products that you can use to try these looks! A great palette that is packed full of fun shades is the Urban Decay Electric Palette, which has super pigmented colors that are perfect for summer. Her favorite eyeliners at the moment are the Clinique Intense Quickliners. They are available in a variety of shades such as cobalt, peacock and plum and have a funky dry down – smudge-able until they set (about 5 minutes) then they stay in place all day.

Watch the full video above for even more great tips, tricks and products to try!
